What is wrist replacement surgery?

Wrist replacement surgery or wrist arthroplasty is a surgical treatment ooption to remove the damaged parts of wrist bones. It is opted as a final resort treatment option for painful arthritis that does not respond to any other treatment options. In a wrist joint replacement surgery, the damaged parts of the wrist bones are replaced with a prosthesis (an artificial component).

With proper care, a wrist replacement can last for upto 10 to 15 years.
